Love holds a special place in our hearts….especially our first love.  Meet Lloyd (John Cusack).  He’s a high school misfit with bright plans for the future but no clear directon on how to obtain them.  Meet Diane (Ione Skye).  She a beautiful straight A popular student who seems to have it all together but is just as lost as most high school students.  Lloyd has been in love with Diane for as long as he could remember.  When he finally gets the chance to show her, utter amazement occurs….she returns the sentiment.  Two people more different than night and day somehow seem to fit so well together.  Diane’s father however, hates Lloyd & will do anything to keep her away from him.
