Landon (Shane West) and his crew are the most popular kids in high school.  When a practical joke goes terribly wrong, Landon, as punishment ends up in crutches, tuturing kids on the weekend and gaining the lead in the high school play.  His leading lady in the play, churchy preaching very unpopular Jamie Sullivan (Mandy Moore), is the last straw.  Reluctant to have anything to do with her, Landon finds himself more & more in her company.  Confused by it all but moved none the less, Landon embarks on a road of self preservations and love but like many situations, all good things must come to an end.
