Melanie Parker (Michelle Pfeiffer) is a single mother architect who is trying to be the best at both and finding it very challenging.  Jack Taylor (Geoge Cloony) is a single father and successful columnist for a newspaper who is aching to put to wraps a political scandel piece that he has been working on for months.  They both have one dilemma; they need someone to watch over their child while they work on perhaps the biggest assignments of their careers.  When Melanie and Jack meet at the daycare, they decide to help each other out but things get sticky when Melanie accidentally loses Jack’s daugher.  Their day is filled with challenges, accidents, mishaps, terror, dissappointment and exhaustion but through it all it ends up being One Fine Day.
